We treat sports related injuries. We have a variety of treatments
available from physiotherapy, acupuncture, sonorex and massage.
If you are under 19 or over 65 then physiotherapy at our clinic
is partially covered by your OHIP coverage. Please see our physiotherapy
fees for the payment breakdown.
No a doctor's referral is not required before making an appointment
with us and to be treated at our clinic. However, if you have an insurance
plan that covers physiotherapy you may be required to have a doctor's
referral before seeking physiotherapy treatment. You may see a doctor at The Sports Medicine Clinic 613.520.3510 if required.
Most extended health plans do cover physiotherapy treatments. You
will need to contact your own insurance to find out.
Yes we give receipts for all payments you make so you can send
them to your insurance company if you are covered.
The first visit is an initial assessment where the therapist will
asses the injury, review the history and determine a treatment plan followed
by a first treatment. This will usually be a one (1) hour to (1.5) hour
and a half visit.
The number of follow up visits will vary depending on the injury. During
the course of treatment therapists may provide a number of different treatments.
They usually range from 45min to 1hour.
Depending on your injury try and bring comfortable clothes that
will let you expose the injured area so the physiotherapist can assess.
i.e knees or ankles it is best to bring shorts; shoulder, neck or back
might wear a t-shirt, tank top or bikini top.
