The Sports Therapy Clinic, Physiotherapy for Ottawa

About Us

Our Mission:

The Sports Therapy Clinic is a physiotherapy facility providing treatment for acute and chronic sports related injuries. We endeavor to return the patient to his or her sport quickly and safely.

Therapists:

All of our therapists are Registered Physiotherapists (RPT) and members of the College of Physiotherapists and Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Brief History of Our Clinic:

The medical facility at Carleton University was first established in 1972. The facility includes The Sports Medicine Clinic founded by Dr. Don Johnson and The Sports Therapy Clinic founded by Mr. Philip Ashcroft. We were one of the first clinics in Canada devoted full time to provide care for the injured athlete.

In 1990 Philip Ashcroft retired and the new owners became Mike Rogers and Terry Page.

In 2000 the limited space where the clinic was first established was becoming too small for the volume of patients so the clinic was expanded. The facility moved down the hall where it is currently located.

Also, in 2000 we acquired the Sonorex Therapy Machine (shock wave therapy). This is one of only four machines in Canada.

Our facility is completely self-sufficient. Within the one building we have general practitioners, orthopaedic surgeons, casting and physiotherapy. The Sports Therapy Clinic is a physiotherapy facility providing treatment for acute and chronic sports related injuries.
